A trip down memory lane
The intros
Nothing crazy here - we met in college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign through a friend of a friend.
The dating
The next 7 years have been an absolute adventure. After Champaign we moved to separate cities (long distance ugh), then moved to Chicago together, and now, living in the beautiful PWN.
The engagement
Our engagement was perfectly ‘us’ in every way. Jose got on one knee Feb 19, on an early morning hike along the Oregon Coast.
A brief* timeline
The Real Beginning:
After a whole summer of Jose visiting Maggie after work, both were about to make some big moves and leave Chicago, without one another. The timing was now or never so Maggie grew some balls and asked Jose “what are we,” and now the rest was history. Pictured: first time Maggie introduced him as the boyfriend.
The Beginning:
Maggie thought Jose was cute so through a friend, was introduced and the rest is history. Well not really, because it took three more years of marinating for the stars align but after each failed ‘talking stage’ we always found our way back to one another. Pictured above: talking stage #2.

Back to Chicago:
After a long year of long distance, we decided to move back to Chicago, to spend a year or two around family and friends with the hoping of moving to Washington soon. One year, turned into two turned into three years living in Chicago. But magical years they were around Lakeview, Chicago. Pictured: Our last apartment together.
The long distance year:
Days after deciding to give it a ‘go’ the relationship developed a fun twist as jobs took them each to opposite ends of the USA - Vancouver, WA and Jacksonville, FL. 2018 was filled with tons of facetime calls and monthly mini vacations to see one another. Pictured: Joses first ever visit to the PWN.

The Engagement
This day was absolutely perfectly us. The plan for the day was hiking a rainy, dreamy, Oregon Coast. We found a random hike we haven’t checked out yet, grabbed some coffee and drove off in the morning. Within minutes of getting onto the hike, Jose found the perfect spot with the most unreal, almost comically perfect rock to place the phone for a “selfie". Pictured: the staged selfies with the boys.
The Big Move:
Plans were always to move back to nature and after three years of Chicago living, we finally make our PNW dreams come true and make the big move to Vancouver, WA where they now still live. Pictured: The sweat, tears and blood that went into packing our entire lives into that damn UHaul.

The Future
We are both super pumped for what is to come. 2025 will be a big year with getting married, a New Zealand trip and hopefully a first some to follow shortly after! Whatever is to come, we are excited to be doing it together with our little family. Pictured: Our little family enjoying our favorite place - a west coast beach.
Throughout the Years
Moments, smiles and other tid bits from the last 7+ years.

Our photographer, Raina, did SUCH a beautiful documenting our little family so we thought these needed a place to be seen as well. Fun fact: we took this in the same spot we got engaged at. This was such a magical moment for us, coming back, this time to celebrate the fact that we are getting married and wanted to take some photos. The Oregon coast is one of our favorites spots in the world so capturing this meant a lot to us.
